Georgia healthcare costs 'could increase over 40% by 2014'

State-by-state modelling of healthcare costs based upon current trends suggest that Georgia healthcare costs could rise by more than 40% by 2014.  This is a worse case scenario for GA is based upon assumptions about cost rises and levels of demand in the period. The 'best case' sees healthcare costs rise by about 30%.

The model does not consider the effects of health care reform and/or increases State and Federal funding that may result from such reform.

Employer (group helath insurance coverage) and Medicaid/CHIP funded costs are predicted to rise faster than individual and family spending costs, so - more than ever - it's wise to compare plans.
