Affordable Health Care - buying on price?

You probably wouldn't buy your kids' education from the lowest bidder. The same applies to affordable health insurance. Sure, you want the lowest premium for your needs and circumstances, but not at the expense of quality or unexpected gaps in cover.

Affordable individual health insurance plans in Georgia can vary tremendously.

If you are looking only at the price of the health insurance plans in your area, the chances are you might be settling for a 'affordable' health insurance plan with significant gaps in coverage.

This is not to say you cannot find good quality health insurance plans in Atlanta and Georgia that are affordable. But, it is important to read the fine print of your policy and know exactly what benefits you are getting. The brochures of health insurance providers in Georgia are filled with industry jargon which makes it difficult for a common person to read and comprehend the health cover inclusions, deductibles and - importantly - exclusions.

Unfortunately, most people do not realize the holes in their health insurance policies in Georgia until they have incurred a claim on a non covered item. By then, it is usually too late to make any changes to the health insurance cover. Affordable health insurance should not be confused with cheap health insurance.
