Georgia Watch: State lags in health care affordability - Atlanta Business Chronicle:

The report, “The Cost of Care in Georgia,” says Georgia ranks in the top 10 for residents who avoid preventative care due to high cost and a lack of insurance. In 2007, 16.4 percent of the state’s population said they did not see a doctor in the last 12 months due to high cost -- a number 3 percent higher than the national average.

For individuals finding the right health insurance in GA can be complicated with many different plans and premiums to compare. But with the average emergency room visit costing $1500 it may be more cost effective to purchase health insurance in GA than not.
