Kaiser Permanente of Georgia introduce The "Now" Plans

Kaiser Permanente of Georgia introduced some new individual health insurance plans for the metro Atlanta area called “The Now Plans”. They are Kaiser’s answer to continuing rises in health insurance costs. Kaiser Georgia's new Now Plans offer slightly lesser benefits with lower premiums.

Initially, Kaiser Permanente GA was planning to replace their individual HMO plans in Metro Atlanta with the new health insurance plans effective April 1st, 2009, but Kaiser Georgia has decided to keep the old products as well as the new plans for now. I guess Kaiser decided that “now” is not the best time to discontinue their HMO health insurance products.

Kaiser Georgia's traditional individual HMO plans have some of the best individual maternity benefits in the Atlanta area. All of the Kaiser GA individual HMO plans offer a $3000 co-pay per pregnancy without additional insurance premiums. So you can actually keep a high deductible of say $5000 and still maintain a $3000 co-pay for your pregnancy benefits.

The good thing about the Kaiser GA products is that you don’t have to pay an extra premium for the maternity benefits you may not use for years to come. If you need it, it’s there. Even if you are single female, under Kaiser Georgia, you are still entitled to the maternity benefits.

Kaiser's individual health insurance competitors in GA require you to purchase family cover to qualify for maternity benefits or pay an extra premium for a rider. Kaiser's compeititors also impose a significant waiting period before maternity benefits are payable.
