Kaiser Permanente: Getting Ready for Athens' Opening
The new Kaiser Permanente Athens Medical Office is almost completed and getting ready to start seeing members next month.
The facility, which will be mostly staffed by KP clinicians and staff coming from the Gwinnett Medical Center, has also been attractively publicized in the Athens/Clarke area.
Daniel Grizzle, MD, who currently works in ambulatory medicine at Gwinnett, will move to Athens to see KP members in internal medicine. "I’m very excited to be coming," he recently told the Athens Banner-Herald daily newspaper. "I’m looking forward to staying there for a long time."
In addition, Drs. Tom Steimer and Mark Moncino will be the office's interim pediatricians. "We hope to have a full-time pediatrician in place by March," said Sharon McDonald, area operations director.
Other KP professionals transferring to Athens from Gwinnett are Janice Jenkins, who will be the medical office's Clinical Manager, and Ebony Nails, Staff RN.
Located at 2142 West Broad Street, Building 200, the Athens Medical Office is KP's first facility outside of metro Atlanta.
